Casting for a VFS short film titled "ADAM" will be held from June 26 through Sunday June 29. We are looking for 2 main characters and 3 extras.

SYNOPSIS:
Europe, 1945: Adam Traugott has never been a violent man, but for the last 3 years of his life he has been ascending through the ranks of the German infantry. While on patrol, officer Traugott and his squad are ambushed, again. He can’t take it any longer; Adam chooses to desert the war and the military. In his desperation to find salvation he is forced into the wilderness, reverting to a more primal existence. But Adam is failing to survive. With German and Allied forces surrounding him, Adam is trapped and must make his way to the sea, and to safety.
CHARACTERS:
[OFFICER ADAM TRAUGOTT] [GENDER: MALE] [AGE: 20–40]
Adam is alone, and consequently has abandoned all he once knew and loved. His world has now been replaced with a different conflict for survival, and Adam is not succeeding. At one time he was the model soldier of his regiment, whom young recruits admired (clean, precise, and deadly efficient). He was obedient, loyal, and never questioned his superiors. But through years of killing and seeing his companions killed Adam becomes disgusted with himself. Now, after months of living in the wild, he is filthy and soiled with the stains of the earth; he is gaunt, malnourished, and a vestige of the man he once presented himself as. Adam finds himself consumed by primal instincts. Like a small animal with many predators (Axis and Allied soldiers), Adam must maintain a constant level of readiness if he is going to survive. [ANIELA] [GENDER: FEMALE] [AGE: 20-50]
Like so many others, Aniela has been left to attend to the household (and the farm) as her husband and sons fight in the war. She barely gets by, and fears for her survival. What has kept her sane, and what brings her peace, is the daily routine of her life before the war; completing the most mundane of chores even if they take all day and night.

Upon being defeated by the allied troops’ weeks ago, these soldiers find themselves wandering the countryside looting and pillaging in order to survive. Like a pack of stray dogs they have no one to answer to except the alpha male of the group. Like Adam, they are forced to survive in an unfamiliar environment; afraid to return to the war, afraid of getting captured, and afraid of death. [Speaking German not required]
