Antique Office Desk by Preston Funiture Company
Offered for sale is an antique office desk made by Preston Furniture Company of Canada. Research on the web revealed the company was in existence in the 1930s but could not find anymore subsequent information for the company. I have been the proud owner of this desk for 20 years.
The desk measures 66" x 38" and has handcrafted features such as dovetail joints in all the drawers, solid oak legs and solid wood panels for the drawers. Additional interesting details include 2 sliding writing panels on each pedestal plus another panel for the secretary on the back side of the desk.
The desk top needs refinishing due to wear and tear but other parts of the desk are in very good condition. All the drawers slide smoothly atesting to the build quality and excellent craftsmanship of the desk.
